A legend in the world of rigging, Peter Morton’s vast wealth of
experience and expertise is unsurpassed. He works mainly from our workshop in Pendennis Shipyard and has overall responsibility for the supervision of our apprentices.

Recently Morty has set up the THL Rope Store.  This is proving to be an excellent addition and captains are very pleased to be able to phone from anywhere in the world knowing that Morty will be able to help them.  His finest supply to date has been for the M/Y Steel providing not only mooring lines and hand rails but ‘decorative items’ such as toilet roll holders and mirror surrounds – is there no end to this man’s prodigious skills? Bill White, captain of m/y Steel says  ‘THL has performed admirably for us during the long and complicated build of STEEL in Falmouth.  In particular because of our close ties with THL and the onsite side of the job. Morty has been a genuinely great guy in reflecting his ability to translate the desires of the vessel into hard reality. 

Without Morty on site all the time, it would have taken us far longer to source a man with his skills.  I am extremely pleased with all the work he has done for STEEL and look forward to working with both him and THL again over the coming years when items will need renewing’.
